Whats to say, its a thermostat
It opens at 195 and above, and closes at 195 and below. Not much to say here. It did arrive pretty fast along with the rest of a cooling system I ordered, so im happy overall.

good factory replacement part - works fine for me
I used this to replace in my 4.0L XJ Cherokee. What Can i say, you put it in, and it works. I also replaced my water pump and radiator and clutch fan. In the end my temps are much lower than before. I think it has to do with the thermostat getting a tad slow and a bad water pump

The Stant SuperStat Themostat out performs the Original Equipment themostat. Unlike the OE themostats that continually open and close to achieve the proper operation temperature and flood the engine with coolant, the Stant SuperStat has a patented V-notch, non linear design that reduces cycling by precisely metering the amount of coolant needed. the V-notch provides a small initial flow. As the engine heats up, the V-notches gradually open wider, metering coolant released into the system until the desired engine temperture is reached. The benefits of proper engine temperature control are: efficient engine operation, prolonged engine life, reduced oil consumption, improved fuel economy and improved emmisions. The SuperStat uses a high flow venturi for maximum cooling capacity during high temperature high load operation, and employes a patented Weir Valve, for percision flow metering during cold weather light load operation, to ensure stable temperature control under all conditions.The power element of the SuperStat is comparable to those used in the heavy duty trucking industry. It employs an actuator piston that is 25% larger than our standard themostat and 55% larger than competitive products. This larger heavy piston duty delivers one and one half times as much power as competitive stats for enhanced durability and longer life. The flange on the SuperStat is 33% thicker than our standerd product and 43% thicker than competitor's themostats for added strength and longer life.The operating spring is 50% stronger than on standard themostats. If you are replacing the waterpump or any part of your cooling system for an XJ, this is small amount of insurance to make sure your rig stays cool.Ive seen some people talk about drilling these for bleeding air... you dont need to. They have a small v notch in the sealing ring, it will bleed itself.

Stant quality is the best, don't cheap out on an inferior brand! I went 10F cooler as my straight six jeep motor runs a bit hot [they all do]. It runs a bit cooler which will help in summer months and should not grossly affect winter heating ability. Great Upgrade for the jeep cherokee Xj
Had some overheating problems before with my 2001 jeep cherokee XJ. After installing this part i noticed that my electric fan was turning on and off in less than 2 minutes ,, it didn't happen before ,, i remember when my electric fan turned on it kept running for a long time .. this means there is more water flow that is cooled in the radiator.it is a great upgrade with the CSF 3core radiator i highly recommend this for the XJ owners Top to learn more

Perfect for performance modified engines
I bought this thermostat to replace the stock one in my 1995 Jeep Cherokee Sport with the inline 6 cylinder engine. One of the biggest problems with these type of engines is that they always generate a lot of heat under the hood. This leads to numerous problems, like warping heads, melting gaskets, etc... This part, since I am adding various performance replacement parts and add ons to the engine as a ORV project, needed something that would help keep this from over heating. This thermostat fit the bill and solved all the over heating problems I initially had. It is a well built thermostat, and was one of the best things i have added to the Jeep so far. Not to mention with the lowered temperature, more available power was unleashed from the engine, and also improved the relatively low fuel mileage. Defiantly recommend this part for anybody that wants to take care of the issues wiht the stock thermostat, or is doing at home performance add ons. Top to learn more

a must have for older vehicle driven in the hot weather
This is the best t-stat I've ever used. I drive British cars , Mini, Sunbeam, etc. in the hot weather. This product reduces temperatures by way of the shield that helps circulate water throughout the head. Other products let the water go back to the radiator too fast. My Canadian friends complain that it works too well and the engine never gets up to temp. They don't have 100F to deal with, so that's understandable. Top to learn more
