MSD's 8.5mm Super Conductor wire sets have a special helically wound core that has just 40-50 ohms of resistance per foot--but with an RFI suppression equal to a 1,500 ohm wire. In fact, each foot of finished wire features 40 feet of tightly wound copper for superior conductivity. A tough 8.5mm synthetic/silicone jacket over an extra-heavy glass braid and dielectric insulator keeps the current guided to the plugs. Underneath the high-temperature boots, dual crimp stainless steel terminals feature snap-locks to ensure a secure fit. The 450 degrees Fahrenheit-rated silicone jacket is extruded over a tightly woven, rugged fiberglass braid which is applied over a high dielectric strength Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer inner insulation for ignition wire performance that exceeds SAE specifications. It includes (8) black extra-long wires, coil lead, silicone boots and zinc-plated steel terminals. The distributor boot and spark plug are made of black silicon. Universal wires are truly universal
These wires are currently running my Jeep. They have been working great and I have had no issues after installation. THe installation was more complicated than I am used to, but I guess it was my own ignorance in not knowing what "Universal" meant. If you are like me and don't know... it means you have to cut them to the length you need on one side. Install the end covers on, crimp the metal ends in properly, and make sure they attach properly to the distributer cap. They recommend using an actual spark plug wire crimper, which is made specifically to crimp the metal ends on to make a good connection to the wire. They sell this tool for like $50 dollars at part stores. I just used some needle nose plyers to crimp the ends into place, and that has worked great. So I leave that up to you. I think next time I will just buy some wires that are already fit and ready to go for my make and model, so I can simply plug them in place like in 2 seconds, instead of spending an hour cutting and...
