Great kit
I've been using it for years on auto filters as well as my motorcycle which has an OEM non-disposable filter. It takes very little spray and will last forever. The cleaning process is simple and only takes a few minutes. The kit costs less than most replacements so it should be an easy decision for any reusable filter, even if it's not a K&N.

A Smart Buy from Novice to Expert
Though I am frugal, I am aware of the many factors that must be considered in the balance of living well and affordable. I must say that the K&N air filter (not included) and recharger kit (listed here) is an easy, affordable, and effective combination of product that is well worth the buy and the time. All you do to "recharge" is liberally spray the cleaner (in spray bottle) onto both sides of the filter, let sit for ten minutes to break down the grime, let the ~natural flow~ of water (not pressurized by a nozzle) run through the inside (cleaner side) of the air filter to flush the grime out of the other side (repeat if really dirty [doesn't usually need more than once for me and I change it every 6,000-10,000 miles]), and let dry (I shake it out and then let it sit in the sun to make it dry in ten to fifteen minutes). Then, liberally spray the oil (in the aerosol can) onto the outside (the once dirty side), and let sit for about five minutes to allow for the oil to absorb. Check...

A bit expensive, but this item is great at doing the job it is meant to do. Always cleans and re-oils the filter without issues. Make sure to get the aerosol oil rather than the squeeze.

Lasts and Lasts
I've had my K&N air filter for my F-150 4.6L engine for 3 years now, and it continues to perform above expectations. Even the cleaning process is a snap, and gives me reassurance that I will continue to get a lot more life out of it. What I like the most about this product is its almost immediate results when it comes to acceleration (though I'm not really into stepping on it these days), as well as the 11% fuel savings I generate on the highway; I have proven this time and time again for the same 232 mile jaunt. This air filter has put money in my pocket over the years. I highly recommend this product, especially in the new era of high gas prices and price-gouging.

Smoother power curve, at the cost of being harder to clean
I waited until my F-150 had 125,000 miles on it to get the K&N filter for it and now wish I had bought it sooner. The engine response on acceleration improved noticeably, while gas mileage only improved very fractionally. I like it a lot, but understand that cleaning and re-oiling it will not only be a chore when the time comes, but it might also be a bit pricey (almost as much as the original filter.) Considering this costs about 2x what an air filter at Jiffy-Lube costs, maybe that's ok, and I'll reserve judgment until I've actually done the cleaning and re-oiling once. In the meantime, I have smoother, quicker acceleration, and I'm pleased. I used 4-stars instead of 5 because of the cost/work of cleaning....

Perfect "Drop-in" for the EcoBoost!
I bought this hoping it would improve airflow to my EcoBoost and it did... I can feel a slight improvement, nothing huge but noticeable. I also saw a 1 mpg improvement over the oem air filter..I'm now averaging 24 mpg's after 2 tanks.

Money Saver
I have a 2011 F150 Ecoboost so one of my first upgrades was moving to a permanent air filter. My last truck was a 1998 Dakota which I just sold this summer. The K&N (cone type on that intake) was fine after over 10 years of use. I just wash and re-oil once each year. Over time, spending $40 once is better for me than $15 each year since I keep vehicles a long time.

Best and most cost-effective product of its type
Short version: Among all fuel system cleaners I'm aware of, Redline SI-1 contains the highest quantity per dollar (based on manufacturer MSDS) of the critical fuel-system-cleaning compounds known as polyether amines (PEA). Primarily for this reason I believe SI-1 to be the best available and most cost-effective fuel system cleaner product at retail pricing. [...]. In my case it has not been necessary to use Redline's recommended quantity of approximately 3 oz per fill-up. The effects of 1 oz per fill-up are indistinguishable in terms of tested results (see my basis for this statement below). This results in an approximate cost of $0.35/tank or less than a tenth of a penny per mile. Raised my gas mileage 3-4 points
My '06 Civic SI has about 40,000 miles on it. It had been getting around 22 mpg (mostly city driving) but even with long distance freeway driving (around 75mph) I'd only get about 23 mpg. I usually use Chevron or Shell gas. I also have used Techron fuel cleaner in the past with no results. So I used Red Line SI-1 a few tanks ago, and my gas mileage has increased to about 26 mpg for my last few tanks. Right now I'm at 318 miles on one tank of gas, and i have one bar left on my fuel gauge (it's digital). Prior to the Red Line the best I'd ever gotten was 312 on one tank of gas, and that was after driving the ENTIRE tank on the freeway, and driving 10 miles with no bars left on the fuel gauge. Typically I would get 250-270 miles on one tank. I'm stoked! I will admit that using this stuff ain't going to do anything to help you if your injectors aren't clogged... but if you suspect they are, this is the fuel cleaner to get!

I Trust It
I belong to an online forum of Colorado owners (coloradofans.com) and created a poll to see which fuel system cleaner the members liked best. This one did very well, so I tried it and I like the results. I have poured a bottle in the tank prior to every oil change recently. I also like Techron, because it seems to give me a smoother idle over each tank of gas. Redline seems to bring out the raw power of my engine though. I am not a mechanic, but it seems to work for me.

cheaper than OEM
This is cheaper than OEM replacement, and more "green". All cars should ship with permenant air filters like these. This is the 5th vehicle I've put a K&N in, never had any issues either with install, maintenance, or warrenty.

K&N Quality Never Changes
With the price of new paper filters at $25, a reusable K&N makes all the sense in the world. Drop in replacement for your old one. Does make the engine sound a little more aggressive when WOT, but not enough to make the wife angry. Had these on other vehicles and never noticed any additional wear and tear on the engine. Would not think twice about picking one of these up.
